Warm socks, caring ears listen
Woman is happy

Homeless woman dies
Where is the love in the world
Where's her pair of socks?

Socks bring joy to her
Homeless needs come from down low
Christ's love starts with feet

Week 2

Sunlight, subway, strength

i look down at my black boots
trudging up the steps
as i begin to emerge
from the dirty subway station
i look up and see the sunlight
beaming
on the glistening stairs
still wet from rain
that fell hours ago..
i feel a source of strength
as i reach the top.

Harsh sounds of the subway
A single mom's strength

Strength comes from struggle
God's sunlight beams of our hope
Child rides the subway

The subway has dirt
A strong smell of the homeless
The sun's light will clean

will i ever win this battle?
there is a force that constantly
tries to show me
there is not enough
bread, brains, beauty,
in this world
to make me happy.

i want more
always more
but to win the war
with myself
means to fight this force
and accept
the abundance of
beauty, brains and bread
all around
and to know
there is enough
for me.

Their force is hard to counter,
Toasted bread is good.

Creative Outlets for the buys (RULES)

We have 3 themes every week.The 3 themes do not have to intersect a creative outlet,
they can be tackled individually, although it would be neat to combine the 3 into 1. Other than that there are no rules. The creative outcomes are due every Wednesday and we rotate who chooses the 3 themes for the next week.
